What is a YouTube Official Artist Channel?
An OAC consolidates everything music-related under one verified YouTube identity, your uploaded music videos, lyric videos, behind-the-scenes content, and the auto-generated Topic channel YouTube creates from your distributed audio. Once merged, your fans see one official channel with the music note icon, your music is featured in the YouTube Music tab, and you unlock advanced YouTube Analytics for music creators.
How we route your OAC application
OAC eligibility requires: at least 3 official music videos, an active YouTube channel, music distributed through an approved partner (that's us), and ownership verification. WBBT submits your application through YouTube's official CMS, providing the rights documentation and ISRC mapping YouTube requires. Most OAC approvals come through within 7, 21 days when routed correctly.
Topic channel merge
If you already have a 'Topic' channel, that auto-generated YouTube channel labeled 'Artist Name - Topic', we merge it into your OAC during the application process. Your stream counts, subscribers and views all consolidate. Without proper distributor routing, this merge is nearly impossible to do manually.
What unlocks after OAC verification
Music tab on your channel, official artist 'Music' shelf on YouTube, ability to set Featured Video and Artist Header, eligibility for YouTube Music editorial playlists, access to YouTube Analytics for Music (with stream/save/added-to-playlist breakdowns), and the music note icon next to your name in search results and recommendations.
