All bass samples are not created equal. An 808-style sub that works perfectly in Trap will result in severe phase cancellation in a UK Garage mix. A reese bass engineered for DnB will completely crush a lo-fi hip-hop arrangement. 3. Generate upper harmonics with gentle saturation (Decapitator, Saturn) to ensure phone speaker translation

4. Sidechain compress aggressively against your kick: 4:1 ratio, 10ms attack, 100ms release

5. Perform a mono check. If the bass disappears in mono, collapse the stereo image on everything below 120Hz
